A dining room extension was added to this detached family home to connect the living spaces to the garden. The ground floor was remodelled to create a series of interconnected spaces for family life.
Generous sliding doors open onto a raised terrace, while a roof lantern brings sunlight into the north-facing dining room.

The extension was designed to create a brighter, more connected family home, opening the ground-floor living spaces towards the garden. Siberian larch cladding gives the addition a warm, natural character and will gradually weather to a soft silver-grey.
Before the work, the ground floor was divided into separate rooms and the existing conservatory did not provide the generous, connected living space the family wanted. The north-facing dining area also needed more natural light and a stronger relationship with the garden.
